Well, I have no scientific basis for my answer, but I do know this. My mother introduced me to diet coke when I was a wee 2 year old (I'm now 28) and I've drunk it my entire life. Up until two weeks ago, I would easily go through 4 to 5 twelve packs a week. And I have an excellent memory. Ask my husband , it drives him nuts. So I'd say no, it doesn't make you forget.
There's also this little fact to think on. There have been LOADS of emails going around the internet fora while now that list the Aspartame that is in diet coke for being the cause of many, many ills. But when you look at snopes.com, they list these rumors to be False. The Diabetes Association of America even ruled Aspartame to be safe during pregnancy!
So I say Diet Coke is safe, as long as you drink in moderation, get plenty of exercise, and drink plenty of water.

Diet Coke uses an artificial sweetener which contains aspartame. It hasn't been proven but supposedly aspartame causes memory loss. Equal contains aspartame... If you're worried, you should cut down on the amounts of diet coke you drink and drink something healthier instead. Every once in awhile won't kill you though!

I heard this was true. And i iave been drinking diet sodas for about 15 years and my memory is shot to hell. So, from experience, this may very well be true! Im only 35 and my memory is sometimes like "old timers". Yup, sounds like its true!

Nutrasweet is a neurotoxin. It kills brain cells. But I think it's minimal compared to, say, alcohol, and plenty of people can drink plenty of booze for years on end without losing mental faculties. Look at Stephen King. So I wouldn't sweat it if I were you.

Forget what? What are you feeling so guilty about? Do your parents know about this? I'm flagging this post so Yahoo contacts your family. We're all pretty worried about you.
