Rebonding is a process whereby the chemical bonds within the hair are broken and then repaired. If not performed correctly, yes, it will lead to damaged hair. However, there are a few systems available that are actually quite good for your hair. One is called Bio Ionic, and I can't remember the name of the other. They take a while to do (I would suggest not planning anything for the rest of the day) but they include a treatment at various stages, that helps improve the condition of the hair and minimises the damage done.

There are also other processes called relaxing processes, which don't last as long (basically it relaxes the curl in the hair, as opposed to removing it totally).

Either process is involved, and you should definitely have a consultation beforehand.

Of course, you could just buy some electric hair straighteners and do your hair each morning. However, of all the processes, this is the most likely to completely damage your hair. Hope this helps.

The choice depends a lot on your hair.
Ethnic information is so important when it comes to hair. Are you Irish and have tight curls? Are you of Puerto Rican descent? Black? Something inbetween?

Some of those types won't respond much to either product while the products might work on another type.

It would be ideal for you to call around to some different salons and find out if they have someone specializing in relaxers and straighteners. Then ask for a free consult with that person. Most stylists are happy to take 15 minutes out of their day to help you decide what will work best, and you may find a person you feel comfortable with enough to have them do your hair.

Good luck!

hair rebonding is a chemical process while hair straightening is applyinf direct heat to your hair....its like ironing the wrinkles (read curls, frizz etc) out of your clothes (hair). the rebonding is more like starching your hair....
i'll suggest you go with neither coz both are bad...
trust me i've tried both...
the one thing that got me out of that terrible tresses situation was bonacure trt....total rebel treatment .....n oil massages.....
but even if you go ahead for a few moments of bliss...now you know wat to use wen your dream is over n the real nightmare begins!!!
Good Luck!
