Keep it out of the rain, check your bolts once in a blue moon. Heard of people oiling their bearings but you would only have to do that maybe a handful of times during the life of the board, mostly if you were to ride through water.
If your board were to last a long time and you ride on rough abrasive surfaces you may need to change your wheels but it will be far into the boards lifetime, also your truck bushings can go bad (crack, turn stiff or brittle) just as those in a car.

A skateboard is designed to take abuse, it'll handle most what you dish out, and if it can't you'll know right away.

Don't leave it out in the weather, lubricate your bearings regularly for best performance.
