Lucky, I've been trying to get my hair that long, but it's just below my waist and seems to have stopped growing. I had a major haircut some years back because "everyone else has short hair", and regretted it immediately after and couldn't wait to get my long hair back.
If YOU feel like you want a radical change in your hair, don't let what anyone else thinks influence you. (Learned that the hard way.) Obviously, I'm of the opinion that you shouldn't cut it, while others are of the opinion that you should; but none of us are you and it's ultimately your decision.
Ask yourself this:
Do I want a haircut because it's what's "in" now, or am I truly ready for a change?
If peer pressure has nothing to do with it, and you're just tired of your old look, do what someone else on here suggested and take it slow. It may be that you cut off a couple inches and regret it, but if not, just keep gradually shortening it until it's the length you want.

If your hair is that long, you've had it that way so much of your life that I think you shouldn't make a drastic change. I would look at it yourself and talk to a few hair stylists about where the healthiest part ends. So, maybe you cut several inches or more (of the ends!!!) the first time to see the difference but its not forever... I'm trying to regrow a bad haircut that got layered high into my hair and I cannot even imagine how I'll ever have my hair back. Go slowly! I do think you'll be happier with shorter "long" hair - just don't rush it untill you're sure.

It would surely help to see a picture of you. I think, just for maintenance reasons it might be wise to cut it shorter. Generally, I say long hair is absolutely fantastic looking. So DO NOT CUT IT TOO SHORT TOO QUICKLY! Have an expert (with patience) cut it step by step. Cutting short is easy but re-adding it is impossible. Maybe you know some computer freak that can take a picture of you and manipulate it to display you with shorter hair and also different haircuts. There might even be hairdressers closeby who can do just that. I hope that you take your time to decide and that you come up with a wise decision.
Good luck!

i do not recognize of a information superhighway website yet seen a commonly good reduce. Layers, which i'm confident you already seen. Layers that initiate slightly higher than standard can truly jazz up a usually drab and longer head of hair. attempt to get a reduce with flexibility so that you'll curl it both in and out, or perhaps tight or free spirals and nonetheless have sufficient lenth on it so it weighs it down sufficient and would not get loopy.

yes cut your hair! You'll feel so good! And you'll be more confident. You should cut it a bit lower than shoulder length and layer it. Way in style now!

this depends on how you feel about it. is it getting in the way? is it holding you back from looking the way you want? if you think it's time for a change, do it for you! personally, i think that cutting it will make you look more refined and sophisticated. if that's how you wanna look, go for it! it's just hair, it'll grow back ;)

i think you should get a hair cut. get a new hairstyle. listen to your mum. normally our father wont really care about our looks. only our mum will give us advice because they are expirience and know what we want at our age. get a medium hair length, with layers. you'll look more fresh. =)
