There are TONS of thin people that don't smoke. Look at every single person that has ever been in the olympics. Virtually every boxer, fighter, or whatever other athlete. Even beyond that, if a person eats a fairly healthy diet and exercises, their body will show it and look freaking fantastic!

In fact, the best looking people with the best bodies, that look their best for their age most definately do not smoke. While true, smoking is a bit of an apetite deterrant, it really comes down to what you eat. If smoking really helped that much, there wouldn't be so many overweight smokers either, and I promise you, there are a LOT of them.

Just eat right and exercise and don't over or under eat.

There are many people who are thin and don't smoke. The reason people gain weight after quitting is because they replace cigarettes with food.
Cigarettes are a horrible way to try to lose weight; not all smokers are thin anyway. I don't see why someone would even consider smoking as an option for weight loss. Healthy eating patterns are a lot more effective and safe. Veganism in particular is something to consider; vegans are about 1/10 as likely to be obese as meat eaters, and vegans often need less sleep and feel better overall.

My father doesn't smoke, and he's as lanky as a telephone pole. There are lots of thin people who don't smoke......it's just a matter of spotting them. And, contrary to popular belief, while quitting smoking does bring about some weight gain, the average amount gained is only between 5 and 7lbs, and that's easily controlled with even a moderate amount of activity.

So, tell your friend that smoking to lose weight isn't a very good idea. There are hoards of other ways that would work better, and be better for her.

Hi Ryan, I am a thin person, i weigh 92lbs.,and i don't smoke. The girl you know who wants to start smoking because she thinks she will loss weight. This is a real dumb reason to start. She can get lung cancer, and her second hand smoke will kill alot of people who don't even smoke. Tell her to watch what she eats, and to eat 4 or 5 small meals a day.I hope this helps.
