I have a white Mini Shnauzer named Rumer and my mom has a salt and pepper one named scout and Rumer's hair is much more coarse than Scout's and the Akc won't recognize Rumer because they say she's not a true MS so does anyone know what she's bred with? Her mom was an Akc Salt and Pepper.

Of course I read the breed standards, TYKE!! I don't want her to show her. She's just a pet so I don't care what color she is!! I desire her color more than I do the "breed standards"!!

i don't own one, but know of them. i have a salt and pepper mini schnauzer (and thank you for spelling it right) the reason the akc does not recognize your dog isn't because she's not a mini it's because she's white. white is not a regocnized color in mini's because of health problems associated with this coloring. good breeders do not breed dogs that produce this coloring more than once since it is a reccessive gene and not one that should be sought after. your dog may be fine, but you should have her spayed definatly. also both mom an dad of your dog have to be akc registered for you to be able to register yours. if you are wanting to show a mini shcn. then you need to find a reputable breeder and get a pup from them. let them know you are wanting to show and they can guide you from there. good luck.

Didn't you READ the BREED STANDARD ***FIRST***????

White is a MAJOR/DISQUALIFYING **FAULT***!!

NOT allowable color.
"Rare" because it's NOT desirable.
