Alcohol increases blood flow to the skin, which makes the skin red and can cause itchiness. If you've ever taken a large dose of Niacin (vitamin B3) you will get a similar experience as it also increases the blood flow to the skin.

Some people are extremely allergic to sulfites, some people mildly. I believe it is a mild reaction with sulfites in some alcohol, which is used as a preservative.

Because they shouldn't be drinking.And they might be allergic to alcohol. And they may be alcoholics that will turn their noes red or purple. Sorry I was married to an alcoholic for seventeen years.

THEY ARE PROBABLY ALLERGIC TO HOPPES, BARLEY, YEAST OR ANY NUMBER OF THINGS THEY DON'T NORMALLY ENCOUNTER IN DAY TO DAY FOODS.
