which I love about her, but it can be very annoying sometimes. I feel like she is just "whining" at times and other times she's "talking" to me. Can cats be extreme whiners and what to do to stop it? I'm thinking she may have some siamese?

First, does she truly have extra toes or is it four toes and a dew claw? If her fifth toe is actually a toe she is called a polydactile(sp?) and i've had a few and have one now. They are very different than "normal" cats. Mine is VERY vocal until she gets what she wants! She LOVES to be "spanked" weird I know, and it has to be by my husband not me. Apparently I don't do it right! Good luck!

Some cats are as quiet as a church mouse. ;) and some talk all the time. First check if it needs anthing, food, fresh water, clean litter box? Is she sick? Does she want more of your attention? Some cats will let you know when they think you should go to bed, etc. If you rule out everything and she still talks nonstop just enjoy the conversation. Sometimes a feline playmate will help. I don't see anything wrong with catnip. When my cat gets a real toot on from some fresh nip she plays for a while then goes to sleep.

Sounds to me like she has some siamese in her. Not all cats are talkers. Cats are picky about who the jabber with so feel lucky. Most of the time they just ignore their owners. I have a jabbery cat, its funny listening to her and wondering what she is mumbling about. Cats are babies thats why they whine so much. You can't really stop it other than talk back to her or if that makes her talk more then talk to her less.

LOL, I got one like her, but it a him. Some days I think he meows just to hear his own voice. I watched himbeing born and he came out crying and hasn't stopped since. Sorry there's nothing you can do but love her. Well, talk to her like a cat. My cat seems to carry a conversation when you just start meowing back. Other times there is a reason for his meows, like needing out, food, or water. I even have a tattle-tale cat, she will, no joking, squeal on another cat or dog that got into something. My older dog got into the trash and she came running to me crying until I went with her and found the trash can over. Not thinking I asked her who did it and she lead me to the dog , who's face had sauce all over it. Thinking about makes me laugh. And yes Siamese are more known for meowing, but my boy is not. Matter a fact our Siamese is one of the quietest cats in the house and she has 6 toe on her front feet.

she's a torti....nuff said. Torti's are similar to calico's except less attitude. I have a calico and she can get quite annoying in her meowing, but she does do it only when she wants something. Torti's tend to be nicer, so yeah think of her as the bubbly girl in highschool that was always the optomist and you'll start to understand. If she starts to get too bothersome, finger snap at her till she gets the drift that hey, you'd like some you time.

Some cats are just vocal, if you want it to stop or just be less, dont give your cat attention when she does it. Im assuming when she does you usually pick her up, pet her etc. Your rewarding her behavior. From now on when she does it ignore her. And when she is quiet give her attention. Shell eventually figure it out.

I had two medium hair cats for about 10 years and never trimmed between their toes. I see no reason for it as long as it isn't getting matted up.

cats are usually more of their own people. so it's kind of hard to get cats to stop meowing. another thing is that you could give her more attention. If you feel you give her enough attention then give her a new toy. My cat is the same way sometimes. My strongest suggestion is to be sure that the toys don't have catnip in them. ;-D
