His name is Josh. He's really sweet, really nice, AND I have a crush on him. I like him alot. Most of my friends are convinced that he likes me back, but the only problem is, both of us are too shy to make a move. I catch him staring at me alot during classes, but when he catches me catching him, he either looks away, mouthes something to me, or imitates something I just did in a funny (outrageus) way. Another problem I have is that he's one of the most popular guys in my grade. I know popularity shouldn't matter, but the other girls after him intimidate me. So, I have 2 questions for everyone: 1) Do you think he likes me back? 2) if so, how in the world can I get him to ask me out (by slightly hinting or something), or, how can I ask him out? I know people mostly say that telling a guy that you like him is the best thing you can do, but I'm way too shy, and if he shot me down,
my self esteem would be road kill. HELP?

yes he likes you back.. he is already hinting at you that he does by his looking away from your eyes meeting, mouthing things to you, and imitating things... well what do you do when he does those things? laughing and smiling a lot at him helps a guys self-esteem and cues him in to your being interested i know from experience... and if you can't ask him out yourself or just to casually do something sometime then you just need to talk to him more and get to know him.. walk with him after class or something.. just be flirtatious back and talk to him is all i can say! good luck!!! :) best wishes to ya!

I can surely tell u that YOU are the ONLY one who can say whether he likes you or not. So, try to be honest with yourself. For the secound question, people keep telling to me that don't be shy. What's gonne happen? You wont loose anything. He will turn you down, that's the worst possibility. That's is compeletely true, but iam 18 years old and i have never had a girl friend, cuz iam stupidly shy. I CAN'T talk to girls. However, my suggestion is that give it a shot. If he shoots you down, you can find someone else. so easy! but if you don't ask him out, you will reproach yourself later. DO IT. The only reason for being shy is shortage of self-confidence in you (also myself). Think about your strenghts. your capabilities, and back yourself with the things you have and other girls don't. Ask him out girl. ( I wish a girl whould ask me out);)

and that's THE SAME as what im goin through rite now.
i dont kno if he likes u bak or not, but you did said that u caught him staring at you, that means he does kno you exist and notice you. but that doenst mean he likes you, or maybe he does so
try to get to know him for a little bit more, and idk...cuz rite now for me..im just tryin to talkin to him on myspace and stuff.
so try to do that. or like bring out some randomness. or somthing.
then you'll see if hes interested or not.
and make the next move

Sounds as if he is attracted to you.
Since the two of your are shy, you need to get a third party to casually ask him what he thinks of you.
This is highschool, so the third party hookup is the way to go.

this depends, how old are u, if ur like young young...12 or 13, if a guys shoots you down ignore that cause younger guys are a little wacky in the brain, and if ur older like in highschool, then just ask him, people don't reject people very meanly like they do in the movies, and like u said he's a really sweet guy, if he doesn't like u, he'll tell u nicely

I suggest you just enjoy the way things are going and don't force it. It sounds like the two of you are having fun. Maybe you could just flirt a little bit more so he definitely gets the message.

then wrote him a note, and in the note tell him that you want to meet him somewhere that you cant be shy, like your house, his house, myspace or email which is no a really good way, or something like that
