I had sinus draining surgery after an infection that had gotten out of control and had ruled my life for at least 6 months. All antibiotic treatments failed. I couldn't breathe and I would blow my nose all day long (bloody, florescent, the whole bit)
I went in for surgery and they knocked me out completely. I woke up in a hospital bed and immediately felt like a new person. I felt amazing even though my sinus area was a tiny bit sore. Any pain I had was nothing compared to the daily headaches, etc. All the pressure was gone. I realized that I hadn't been able to breathe that clearly in years and I felt better than I did even before I had the infection. They said they drained out over a pint or two of 'fluid'. I was able to walk out later that day.
A small drainage tube was left in my nose (you couldn't see it) and they told me I had to come back in about a week to have it removed. I went back, the doctor had some surgical pliers in his hand and he said, 'Here we go' and he pulled out the tube. It was so painful that I saw a flash of white light but it was over in a second. He held it up and the tube was over 5 inches long.
It was the best thing that ever happened to me. They did say that I may eventually have to have my sinuses drained again someday, maybe in 10 years. It's been 12 years and I haven't had any problems but I definitely do not breathe as easily as I did for the first few years after the surgery. Apparently, I'm prone to sinus problems anyway.

merely curious, yet why does your dogs choose minor surgical treatment? oftentimes, Vets oftentimes wait until the doggy is around 6 months previous earlier appearing any concepts that require the dogs to be placed below anesthesia. until despite is faulty which includes your doggy would be made worse by waiting, then i could recommend you place it off until the dogs is 6 months. Have the minor surgical treatment on a similar time which you have the dogs neutered. the clarification vets tend to attend is simply by fact some canines have a stressful time dropping their toddler tooth and that they'd would desire to be pulled. Pulling tooth calls for the dogs to be placed below anesthesia. Anesthesia is stressful on a doggy's equipment (plus that's high priced) so that's greater advantageous to attend and have each thing achieved at one time if waiting is an option. My dogs had a hernia repaired, have been given neutered and had 2 tooth pulled on a similar day.
