Ask how he has kept it running, that alone is a miracle. If these cars has any one thing going for them, it is the availability of parts off the thousands of them abandoned in scrap yards. The motors were underpowered and problematic. Trim pieces are probably falling off or dangling by a piece of plastic. Chances are the car is 3 different shades of bondo and rust. Short of needing a 2 ton hunk of Detriot iron for a demolition derby, get something else. This land yacht will be suitable as boat anchor, or a nicer than average car to have up on blocks in your yard.

I would ask if they had records of work done on the auto, how long they have had the car, check the tires battery, see if there are any leaks under the car, if there is a sticker on the air cleaner that says HT4100 walk away from it, they are noted for many troubles, ask for service records dont be affraid to ask why they are getting rid of it.... check to see if wipers, heater, power windows, in other words check to see if everything is working properly... I know it is 20 years old, but that doesnt mean that it is in bad shape, take cap off radiator and see what color the fluid is, oh gosh.... the list is endless.... Good luck to you ....
