I'm so old-fashioned I never include the word "date" when I ask a boy out because I want to hear it from him first, but then he does the same thing and I never know if I'm dating or just hanging out with just a friend who considers me that.

I'm old, (49) and old fashioned!
If the guy pays for the night it is a date!
If he wants you to split the dinner, movie etc. it's a Friend thing.
Good dating!

This is the problem with being old-fashioned you never know what he's thinking. My boyfriend of two years probably never would have kissed me first b/c he didn't know what I was thinking so I just went for it and thank god I did b/c I can't imagine being without him right now. Just try to go out on a limb just once and you probably won't regret it. My bf also told me that he really liked that I took the initiative to step up and do something so maybe a guy might like it?

You appear to be doing just fine. If I understand correctly, you can go out with men and it's 'just friends'? How many uh, uh, get togethers do you have with a particular guy? What sort of activities are you doing. "Date like" things?
If you want it to go farther all you have to do is give the universal signals and any male worth his salt will either 'shake you down' or tell you to "cut it out I'm trying to watch T.V/darts" etc. Then you can go back to ordering another round. Best of both worlds you get to decide who you make the move on and who is your drinkin' pard.

I am kinda old fashioned too, hun!! So I kinda understand where you are coming from.

A friendship is the best way to start out..(In my Opinion)....If it goes beyond that.....it will happen naturally!!

By the way.....Wanna go out next Saturday night?? :-) (I know..I know..your probably on the other side of the world.....but I had to ask...)
