Your naval piercing should be fine after getting wet from the shower so you shouldn't worry. The easiest and best way to clean your naval piercing and to keep it from getting infected is to clean it with a really mild hand soap. After a shower, before you dry yourself off, pump one or two pumps of mild, non fragrant, antibacterial soap (like Dial) into your hands, work it into a lather, and gently clean your naval piercing, without taking the piercing out. Then simply wash all the soap off with some warm water and dry it with some toiletpaper, making sure you get rid of all the excess water. Do not use a towel because of the high bacteria content. Do this for a couple of months and it should heal up just fine. This is what my body piercer told me to do and I cleaned it this way for about four months and three years later, my naval piercing is just fine! Good luck.

Hello there
There is nothing wrong with getting it wet,y ou want to keep it clean and free from ifectin, so the best thing to do is after a shower make sure you get a cotton tip and clean the belly ring and your belly too, of course. Use some medicated methelated spirits( you can by this from your pharmacy) and apply it to the area with the cotton tip this will prevent any infection from occuring. Have fun showing your new ring off ( you have a lot of guts getting one!)

Dab it dry with a sterile pad and dab peroxide on it with a sterile cotton ball- you should have standard instructions from the person that pierced it unless you went to a place you may be prone to infection- and in that case watch for reddening in the area, increased stomach distress or swelling around the site, and belly pain-- at that point get to the ER ASAP-

It wont get infected if it gets wet in the shower. I just had mine done, and I use bactine to clean it twice a day and everything is going fine. But dont stop using it even if you think it is healed because it will get infected.

Everytime you take a shower clean your new peircing with anti-bacterial soap. Before bed, after you clean your peircing with alcohol, crush one asprin tablet and add a couple of drops of water to it, to make a paste, then cover the top and bottom of your peircing with it. This helps prevent an infection and speeds up the healing process.

Neosporin does all sorts of wonderful things! I used it all the time on my ear piercings, and it would get rid of an infection better than anything else.
But since it's not infected yet, you should use rubbing alcohol. Hydrogen peroxide has a tendency to kill skin too, so it's better to use alcohol.
