Because it makes me sick. Almost always when I have my period I have to take a pill(not birth control, some other prescribed) to stop the cramps, because they are so bad. But I'm not talking about the cramps.
I'm talking about if I don't take that pill, the pain gets worse and worse, until I throw up. Usually a couple of times.
I used to think it was connected with my cramps, but there was a time I had a headache, didin't do anything about it, and was sick.
So, Is my body just have low pain tolerance, or what?

Not necessarily-- the headache could have been a migraine which one of the side effects is nausea and vomiting-- and it's common to get migraines around your period. I would like to suggest that you see a GOOD gynecologist-- you may have whats called Cystic ovaries- and that means that your ovaries produce cysts that cause pain, above and beyond the normal amount due every month. It is not uncommon more like common to produce cysts but some women produce bigger cysts and that's where the problems lie. A gynecologist can do an ultrasound of your ovaries and see what's going on... may be able to prescribe a medicine for you before your period so you don't have to endure these episodes......good luck to you and one more thing.... SEE A GOOD GYNECOLOGIST-- PICK A MAJOR MEDICAL CENTER AND A WELL ESTABLISHED PHYSICIAN.
Good luck to you................ and it doesnt matter what age you are it happens to all ages, my one daughter started at age 12 and is 26 and has polycystic ovarian disease- and is a pretty serious condition- and that's why I'm saying see a good gynecologist and if you don't like the answer you get, see another-- two opinions are always better than one! good luck to you

I don't have this problem, but I know others who do.
You know, I wonder if you have other underlying issues. Based on the examples you cited, you could have medical reasons for throwing up.
A lot of women get nausous on their period. You should consider birth control for regulating your period.
Also, migranes can make people throw up. You should check and see if you get migranes.
So, basically what I'm saying is that I don't think you are throwing up because of the pain, I think the pain and the throwing up are both symptoms of another underlying cause.
or, go see a doctor, ha ha ha! :)
I hope you feel better!
Just remember - PMS/Cramps/Menstration get better as you get older!!

Yes. My daughter goes through this, too. I think it's because the body is going through so much, that it tries to get rid of everything in the digestive tract too, because it cannot afford to have to deal with both digestion and overwhelming pain at the same time.
I've heard from two different sources now that if you take ibuprofen, (Motrin or a store brand), a couple of days before your period, it can block the chemical from building up in your system that makes the cramps so awful. Ask your doctor if that okay for you. )

Don't blame yourself or even something called "low pain tolerance."
Nobody knows for sure what level of pain somebody else is feeling.
By sick you seem to mean "sick to your stomach." Am I right?
Pain frequently makes people throw up and so on.

Period is a process of harmonic change. Therefore there must be some reaction. Many ladies can sustain it while a few can't. It depends upon your body constitution.
During period headache and mental disturbance are common things. Please eat sweet and fresh food, have a nice chat with beloved ones and heating in tub, sunshine or pads will help you. Massage in sunshine before hot tub or steam bath will also be helpful to get pain relief.

When you've topped your tolerance for pain (whether it's a migrarine or menstrual cramps or a broken arm) you'll vomit.
If you're lucky enough to have pain pills prescribed for your menstruations and headaches, take them and don't wait to vomit.

I do it too, I actually convulse and throw up. My period does it to me, migraines do it to me just about anything. If I don't get enough food to eat, this happened last night, I vomit. Sometimes I start throwing up in my sleep. It's terrible. I used to vomit a lot more though.
