I have had several ingrown nails, but they all turn out okay. But a few months back one worsened and it hasn't recovered until today. It's my left big toe nail. It bleeds when i bump into things and occasionally pus, i think, and 'water, comes out too. Recently the nail grew out, i know because it was longer than the other parts of my nail, but is it a good sign? A sorta bump has grown at where it hurts now, it's a bit hard and when i peel the brown part it's like there's flesh inside, but then the brown part grows again. It's where it bleeds and stuff. help! ];

It sounds bad. I suggest amputation!

You need to see your doctor if it still has infection in it. The hard bump could be a cuticle or a part of your nail is still inside your skin. My son has had this problem since he was a baby and at the age of 20 he had another ingrown toe nail and was lucky my niece is a surgical tech. and she operated on it at home for him it didn't hurt him he's fine now but she has done this at the hospital many times and she saved us a lot of money. But she told us what to watch for and we cleaned it daily with antibiotic. When it grew out he started cutting it straight across instead of curved into the toe. And I put band aids on my my toe nail pulling the skin away from the toe nail.

i have had this problem before. what happened is that your nail is growing into your skin.

You should go to the doctor to get antibotics. that will take care of the swelling and redness, but not the actual ingrown nail.

for the nail i had to soke it in water that has epsom salt in it. after soking it (which will make i softer) try to move the skin away from the nail. That way the nail will not continue to grow into the skinfor this to work do it everyday!!

there is a minor procedure (surgery) that can be done if it's happening a lot.

What you should do is not cut it until it has healed, and when u cut it cut it straight

You are past the point of home cures. If it just hurt when anything touched it, I could tell you how to make it grow out, because I did it with both my big toes 20 years ago, but mine did not become infected, and it sounds like that happened to you. Get thee hence to a doctor, and get proper advice before you lose a toe, or worse.

hmm you might try having an acrylic nail applied to the full nail to help the nail grow out properly.
