It could be caused by a disk in your lower back pusing on your sciatic nerve. It could also be caused by a tight piriformis muscle in your hips which is called pseudosciatica.

sciatica is caused by a pinched nerve or pressure on your spinal cord. If you have injured your lower back, have a bulging disc or a herniated disc in your lower spine (like L-4 or L-5) you can have sciatica pain or pain free days. If you do heavy lifting and injure or re injure your back you may have pain again lasting for a few days or weeks. If you're fat and carry most of your weight in your stomach it puts significant pressure on your lower back, and can trigger sciatica. LOTS of stuff. Google sciatica and you'll get tons of good, free sites to check.

I have a pinched Sciatica. I have Degenerative Disk Disease, and my disks are pretty much gone at L1, L4-L5. My disk at L4 is so worn down that it is pinching the nerve and effecting my lower body. Other things that could cause it are a slipped disk, herinated disk, or possible tumors in the pelvis which I am being tested for on Tuesday because my symptoms serpass Sciatica.

I have no idea how that could happen. If part of the clot breaks off from the carotid, it's going to remain in the circulatory system, and not impinge on the sciatic nerve. I'm an operating room RN, and in 7 years have never seen sciatic nerve pain caused by a loose clot travelling from elsewhere in the body. Typically, sciatic nerve pain is caused by a herniated disc, or spinal stenosis.

Probably disc misalignment in your lower back. A good chiropractor can help you with this. If you cannot afford to go, then look up some good exercises that will help your lower back . . . . . and start walking regularly.
