Wishing wells are for showers, not weddings. But you can rent them at party stores.
I saw this wishing well for a wedding on a show and it was neat. The couple had a wishing well carved out of ice and provided a crystal bowl with pennies in it. As guests passed by during the night they tossed a penny in the well and made a wish for the couple.

Along with stone, mud and animal parts, wood was one of the first materials worked by early humans. Microwear analysis of the Mousterian stone tools used by the Neanderthals show that many were used to work wood. The development of civilization was closely tied to the development of increasingly greater degrees of skill in working these materials.

I bought one made of cardboard for my reception. I couldn't find a reasonably priced one made of wood. I also couldn't find plans to make one without paying for them. Good luck though.. And as for the one who said they are tacky.. They are a nice way for people to give money to a couple who already have everything they need. We used our money on our honey moon. When we came home we showed people who gave us money what we bought.
