My armpits are extremely dry (not due to a rash or bacteria). They itch a lot and the skin is cracking. This keeps me from being able to apply deoderant or antiperspirant because it irritates the skin.

Question should say "to deal."

Also, I know I can use lotion and the like to moisten my underarms, but how can I erradicate this problem?

Powders would be a bad idea because they will dry the skin out. I need to fix the dry skin problem, then I will deal with the deoderant stuff.

I have just about gone crazy scratching under my arms and have tryed all kinds of stuff. I found relief after my last shower. I dryed off and have quit using deodorant for the same reason as you. Then I poured some Avon Skin So Soft on a wet wash cloth and rubbed it under my arms well and over other dry skin areas. Praise God, I have not itched at all. I had it bad.I take a lot of medication that is doing this to my skin. The dentist told me last week that my mouth was extremely dry. I carry water with me everywhere and sip on it all day long. Hope you can get this product and it will help you also. It is an oil. Good Luck to you.

Use some petroleum jelly to moisten them...or even some lotion if you like... as far as something to keep them non-smelly, try some baby-powder for now instead of deoderant.

Try the gold bond itching powder instead of deoderant.
