Only God knows. I don't think everyone that commits suicide goes to Hell.

Many people believe that when the body disintegrates at death, the continuum of the mind ceases and the mind becomes non-existent, like a candle flame going out when all the wax has burned.
There are even some people who contemplate committing suicide in the hope that, if they die, their problems and sufferings will come to an end. However, these ideas are completely wrong.
To understand reincarnation, we need to understand the nature of our mind, and how our body and mind are separate entities.
Some people think that the mind is the brain or some other part or function of the body, but this is incorrect. The brain is a physical object that can be seen with the eyes and that can be photographed or operated on in surgery.
The mind, on the other hand, is not a physical object. It cannot be seen with the eyes, nor can it be photographed or repaired by surgery. The brain therefore is not the mind but simply part of the body.
There is nothing within the body that can be identified as being our mind because our body and mind are different entities.
For example, sometimes when our body is relaxed and immobile, our mind can be very busy, darting from one object to another. This indicates that our body and mind are not the same entity. In the Buddhist scriptures, our body is compared to a guesthouse and our mind to a guest dwelling within it.
When we die, our mind leaves our body and goes to the next life, just like a guest leaving a guesthouse and going somewhere else.

My son dedicated suicide so I truly have requested myself an same question. because you factor out "hell" i assume we are speaking about Christian beliefs. I truly have achieved my study on the King James version of the bible and could no longer locate everywhere that announces the soul is going to hell if someone commits suicide. some thing interesting: i could not even locate everywhere that announces the position the soul is going after someone dies. evidently the soul is put in a holding state, a nothingness to be able to communicate. Assuming you'll Heaven, you gained't truly bypass to heaven till the resurrection. This of direction contradicts countless religions, notwithstanding it truly is the way I examine the King James version. i imagine, Catholics trust the soul is allotted to purgatory, till the resurrection, to pay for it truly is sins. no longer only precisely certain what occurs in purgatory. I do imagine suicide is one of those homicide. Thou shalt no longer kill

Fear of eternal damnationis a completely ineffective deterrent to taking one's life. I am a suicide counselor and it doesn't matter if someone believes such a rediculous idea, it's not enough to stop someone from doing it. I don't believe it is a sin, if someone is in their right mind and thought long and hard about it then I thinkit is their choice, living is a very personal concept. Don't worry I would never tell a client who was calling me for help that. I assume that if they're calling a crisis line then they're reaching out for help.

Great question!
It depends, one will be judged according to ones abilities at the present times. There are people who are insane and commit suicide and do not know what they are doing. And there are people who are sane but live in such terrible conditions that they see no other possiblity. God knows this. For the latter their still can be repercussion, but technically God Himself will be the judge of that.

To address a comment by someone on this question. Nowhere in Islam states that a suicide is rewarded by heaven. Suicide is also murder. Islam condemns suicide, killing innocent people, vainly destroying buildings and such thing. Since this is a religious question, I do beleive that only God Will Decide who goes to heaven and hell, and suicide is condemned in all religious texts- as a matter of fact- suicide is a result of loss of faith in God- as it is cliche by now- "God Does not Give you more than you can handle". So the question should be: "Will God Forgive those without faith in Him?" And guess Who decides the answer to that.

I dont think so, Hell is just a scare tatic i think. Maybe He / She has serious mental problems and they couldnt handle it, so they take there own life. Should they "burn in hell" for that , no. I do believe in god but the religous books were written by man, and man can over-exaggerate the truth to get people to follow them

Depends. Martin Luther's teachings say taht if u were driven to comiting suicide by the devil you can still be saved, but its different views from every religion. In the middle east the people think they are being saved if they kill themselves in suicide bombings while catholic belive u are sent straight to hell.

Our God is the best, fair judge of all. I believe not all will pay for committing suicide because God is compassionate and he knows all peoples emotional pain. He is a tender, loving God and He will take all into consideration.

I'm not God so I don't know.
As far as I can tell, nobody else on Yahoo Answers is God either.
My bet--see Pascal's Wager--is God understands everything and has love for His creation, and probably forgives more than people do.
