I wouldn't say I know I'm going to heaven, sounds a bit arrogant IMO. One should not do good just because they want to get to heaven either; and just reciting the "I accept Jesus" pledge isn't going to get you there either. i'd rather not dwell on it, just do what i can to help those in need.
You may have faith in the Lord, but without living the faith (Love everyone as yourself, do good for others) you are merely paying lip service to God
Even if there is no heaven or god, or you don't believe in such, that's no excuse either to not do good for others. Care not about the rewards of your good deeds, just care enough to actually do them.

I am a Christian who exercises faith in the ransom sacrifice of Christ Jesus my Lord and Savior and do the will of God, I make mistakes and am trying to improve myself with God's help, but I know for a fact I am not going to heaven, that is not where I belong, my home is earth and that's the hope I hold, to live forever on a paradise earth.

i don't need to no for certain. i don't believe in heaven ( or christianity, for that matter) and even if there is no reward for being a good person, just getting to experience the small sliver of existence i have expereinced is reward enough. I just wish i was somehow as earnest as christians, but i guess i am doomed to be shallow selffish person. (wink of sarcasm)

Well, I never plan on dying so it's irrelevant for the most part (I don't fear death really, I'd just rather avoid it while I can be entertained without it). Anyway, heaven is my least preffered means of afterlife, WAY below both hell and nonexistance.

Because I have faith in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, and whosoever believeth in him SHALL NOT PERISH, but have everlasting life." To me, this clearly states that I am going to heaven because I honestly believe in Jesus as the son of God, who sacrificed himself for my sins.

I do not worry about it, because my worry changes nothing. I think a lot of people are fooled myself. I have done many things for Jesus Christ but then I know also I am nothing and it is him doing any good I do, so I have nothing to glory in. Heaven or Hell was all decided before I was born, the Bible teaches this but many will disagree because they have not learned the Bible but what their churches or religion teaches rather than the truth. So I will cover the bases for you. And if you disagree it isn't me your disagreeing with but your own salvation.
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Ephesians 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Many religions hate these words so they wrote newer Bibles to leave these words out. But there are many more proofs; Romans 8:29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.Romans 9:13 Just as it is written: "Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated." 16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
Now consider God before the world was created wrote names in a book of all them with eternal life;Revelation 3:5 He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels.
Now consider Judas Iscarot had his name in that book and was blotted out of it, as was Balaam a prophet with a gift from God;Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Now notice in the next verse Judas Iscarot was with them when Jesus said these words; Luke 10:19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. 20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven." I know my name is in Heaven so I do what I can for the rest!
