I've heard Trazodone is one of them but is that true or not?

I don't wanna overdose on antidepressants moron, Im a pharmacy student and I cant find answer anywhere so I need help.

Sigh... why is everyone here so hostile. For example, I know tricyclics and MAOI are the worst to overdose on because they affect cardiac conduction and ODing on them can lead to heart block. Trazodone doesnt affect muscarenic receptors or cardiac function so its SAFER. Im just comparing the ones that are available in terms of danger...Thanks

Hi there! Very interesting question and I got the answer for you from a toxicology review paper:
Fatal toxicity index (FTI)
– unacceptable risk; 40 deaths/million RX
• amitriptyline, tranylcypromine
– very dangerous; 30 deaths/million RX
• maprotiline
– clearly dangerous; 20 deaths/million Rx
• phenelzine, imipramine
– potentially dangerous; 10 /million Rx
• clomipramine, trazodone, protriptyline, buproprion
– relatively safe; < 10 /million Rx
• fluoxetine, mianserin, paroxetine
So it looks like TCAs are by far the worst, then MAOIs, then atypicals like Buproprion and Trazodone,and finally SSRIs seem to be the safest in overdose.

Who told you Trazadone doesn't effect the heart. I am a nurse and had a kid with serious arrythmias due to a Trazadone OD.
Are you attention seeking, so you want to OD on something "safe"? Try asking directly for what you need or want instead of playing games if this is the case.
Get some help ASAP.

seems like a very redundant question...no drugs are safe if you do OD. Therefore, can't answer the question.
Are you just wanting the attention and "safe" attempt or you really want to die??
Have heard that Trazodone can result in coma.

i agree with marijuana its the only antidepressant that you cannot overdose on
in South Africa you can get it in pill form ,for Astma patients
or you can boil it in milk if you dont smoke
in Holland its not illegal

NOTHING is safe in overdose.
And psych drugs are among the un-safest things to ID on.
