hey ... im from nj and i want to take the civil service test to become a police officer the only thing is that i really dont know where to go and check the dates for the test. i also need the application.. help any advice!!1

have you ever thought of walking into the local police department and asking a police officer for the information, if you are seeking your answer on yahoo then maybe being a cop isn't the right job for you.

Contact the agency you are interested in and ask for the contact info for their civil service commission. Do this for every county and city in your area. The civil service commission will be able to tell you when and where the next test is and where to get an application. Some even have regional testing to allow several agencies to use one list of applicants. Test with every agency even if it is a distance away. This will give you experience testing and eventually you will get a job. If you have a college degree in anything you are steps ahead of those new hires that do not. Good luck!!

look on line for the State of New Jersey civil service website, they are sure to have one along with a phone number for general information, try googling New Jersey Civil Service information or State of New Jersey-departments- your local police could probably give you some valuable info, call the business line
