I'm also a fairly lazy person. Just don't eat anything within 2 hours of going to bed. Don't overeat anything. Overeating will stretch your stomach, essentially increasing your appetite. At one time I weighed 320 pounds, I am now down to 240. I'm still going down. The only "diet" thing I did was cut out junk food. No chocolate bars, and ABSOLUTELY NO potato chips.

I always lose weight if I drink a lot of coffee, about a pot or more a day. It upsets my stomach a bit so I don't eat that much. That along with my smoking, stress and literally eating one meal in 3 or 4 days (longest I've ever gone) can cause me to lose about 5 pounds very fast though it's probably mostly water weight. I never do this purposely, it just happens when I'm stressed. I can start feeling really nuts after a doing this for a few days and I usually start eating almost normally again so I really don't know what would happen if I used this method as a 'diet'. I'd probably end up puking from all the coffee then passing out. In general, I don't eat much and have a lot of caffeine. I'm stay pretty thin and whenever I start to eat 'healthy' I gain a little weight because I never exercise. Obviously, I don't recommend this but you asked for the truth. It's more of a 'crash diet' and I don't think it would really work for losing more than 5 or 10 lbs unless you wanted to end up really sick.
*Other than that, stay away from fast food and soda as much as possible. I once lost a lot of weight when I gave up my Pepsi habit (about 2 liters a day)

Avoid white bread/rice/pasta/noodles etc. wayyyy too many carbs and since you don't exercise these carbs will eventually just turn into unused energy > fat. To avoid overeating eat a handful of almonds 15 minutes before a meal. I heard that the good fat fools the body into thinking ur fuller. eat whole wheat products and healthy portions of protein with little fat in them. These things ill you up faster without all the unnecessary fat.
AVOID FAST FOOD. The trick seems to be to pepare your own meals. Seriously. It's the only way that you can know for sure exactly what it is thats going into ur system.
CHECK THE LABELS. You have no idea how easily you can be fooled. Look at the servings per container thing and don't eat more than one serving in one sitting.
AVOID SOFT DRINKS, specifically the cola drinks. They, along with fast food, are one of the leading reasons for obesity today. Did you know that a bottle of cola contains 2.5 servings, meaning that you should not be drinking a bottle a day.
CALCIUM. And i dont mean the supplements. get it from the real source like the foods. Turns out three servings of calcium rich foods a day help reduce inches around the waist. What a lot of ppl don't know is that scaled weight has nothing to do with how healthy or unhealthy you are. It's all about how big you belly is. Thats right! 34" for woman and 40" for men is considered unhealthy!!! If you can decrease the belly fat, you'll add years to your life, NO BULL!! Im soooo serious.
CUT BACK ON THE BEER. Alcohol is considered a fat substitute. When you drink beer, your body ceases to use it's fat stores up for energy and instead uses the alcohol for enegy. What happens is that the fat in your body, particularly the one in th belly area, does not get used up and you gain weight. And remember what I said about belly fat.
I've got some bad news for ya buddy, there is no way to avoid the conventional stuff. Diet and exercise is the only healthy way to lose weight, and it's the only effective way too really. Dont be lazy. I know you feel that way now but once you start exercising you'll get soooo much energy. And why not do something you enjoy? You dont have to head to the gym and do greusome exercises. Ride your bike on the weekends. Go dancing friday nights. play flag football with your buddies, whatever just dont sit around. exercise is the only effective way to burn fat. and don't be fooled FAT CAN NOT BE CONVERTED INTO ANYTHING. PROTEIN AND CARBS CAN TURN INTO FAT BUT FAT CANNOT TURN INTO PROTEIN OR WATER FOR THT MATTER.
I wish you well in your journey to lose weight. Most health insurance covers nutritionists so if its not too much work, get one. They can be very helpful in pointing out what it is tht you're doing thats keeping you from losing the weight.

Surgery !! but why is the reason you want to lose weight? for health reasons or to just look good ? There is alot of Marketing for pills that will reduce appetite, and speed metabolism which
melts off Fat. But none will be as effective or permenant as proper diet and exercise( which is much cheaper by the way)

I'd say go eat some greasy mexican food for 3 weeks strait, that'll have your bowles a movin', and plus you might get E.coli and vomit your way to weight loss. Plus there's always parasites, those always get ya, make you lose at least 10 pounds.
