my long term boyfriend is joining the royal australian air force as a airfield defence guard. anyone who was a airfield defence guard,or who knew someone who was one,please let me know the impact it had on ur home life,and ur experiences ....anything really!!!

ADG's as they are known do work shiftwork and this could impact on your social life but you will find others in the same boat and will adjust accordingly.He still has to survive 90 days of rookies at Edinburgh in South Australia,then his specialist training before being posted to a "permanent" base.Then there will be transfers which entails a bit of getting used to but you do.It's a great life and a great future.
