The best way that I've always dealt with this, and I've been on more that one diet in my life, is that I tend to drink things that are neat - straight alcohal with no ice. Sipping becomes a necessity and if you get a large glass of water on the side, you can do very nicely for yourself. I prefer bourbon, but it really goes for anything. The different types of alcohol are about the same for a calorie perspective, except for rum.

Low calorie snacks - depends on how low in calories you really want to go: Rice Krispie Treats are good and they make lots of 100-calorie snacks that are in the cookie or chip aisle.

Good Luck

How about the flavored waters? VeryFine makes one called H20 Plus which also has vitamins added to it. There are some, like Propel, who use too much sugar. The VeryFine waters have no carbs or calories.

Sun-brewed ice tea is good, with some fruit infused, like lemon. If you can tolerate the taste without sugars. Served with lots of ice and a sprig of mint, very refreshing and lo-cal.

shots of hard liquor are not metabolised like other carbs so they are zero-carb in a protein diet sense.

don't eat fake sugar though. verdict is still out on that stuff.

water is outstanding, especially filtered. try green tea if you don't mind the caffeine. herbal otherwise.
