If heaven is so great why do we not all try to get there sooner? I'm not being sarcastic, I really want to know. I would like to go now. I don't see anything wrong with expediating the process. Am I wrong? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE.

as a Christian, I know how you feel, I am homesick too, I look forward to seeing my savior every day, but at the same time I know that we are here because God has a reason and a plan for each of our lives. hold on, God has something waiting for you to fulfill.

Well if your completating suicide then you should know that it is a big sin. Depending on your denomination you might not make it to heaven. But there is also the little doubt in most peoples mind that heaven may not exist. Thats why a lot of people want long lives. As for me, Im an athiest so Im hoping for a very long life.

You conclusion is logically; if you follow what Christianity teaches about the afterlife to its logical conclusion. If the after life is so much better, then why not go there sooner? The problem is with a religion thats core is based waiting for after death instead of living this life to its fullest.

However, if you were to commit suicide you may not like what happens next. No one knows for certain what happens AFTER you die because no one has ever come back; there may be an afterlife, but its nothing like you expect, or there may be no afterlife at all and you've just snuffed yourself out .

What a dope. What if there ISN'T a heaven? The only way you'll know for sure is to die. If you kill yourself, and you're even a LITTLE religious you can't go to heaven because suicide is a sin. If you're not religious then how can you believe in heaven? If THIS is heaven, and you die, then what? If there ISN'T a heaven and you die, then your just dead. Nothing. Just dead. Oh yeah, and soon forgotten. ONe more thing, there's no such word as "expediating".

We are here in life on earth to make a difference, big or small, we all have a purpose.
Getting to heaven is a gift that you receive after God knows you have done what you need to do.
He blesses us with these gifts for a reason. Use them to help others.

Heaven will come and don't take this in your own hands because that would mean you are only focused on your happiness and that is being selfish.

Good Luck and God bless you on your search for the answers.

Girl, first of all -you can't take your own life and go to heaven. It has to be God's time for you to go-not when you decide. It says in the Bible says that the ultimate sin is to take your own life. It is because of him that you have it! Don't let anyone tell you that there is not a Heaven-there is! If you live your life right and be good person you'll see one day. You have to have faith and trust in the Lord!

As I understand it, heaven is the ultimate reward for your behavior here on earth. The religion I was raised in believes that a select few will go to heaven while the rest will stay here on earth to restore it to the pristine paradise it was intended to be. I like that idea. Sometimes, though, suffering through bad times makes the good times so much sweeter. Just my opinion, hon.

Well from my understanding, suicide is frowned upon by God, so that's probably not the best way to get to heaven. I guess you just have to hope for an accident or a terminal disease. But then why do people pray that these things won't happen to them?

You can. Become a truth seeker not a "believer". You are starting already by your question. Look into the words of the masters and ask, can I find out or "know" this to be true? The Buddha said "you will never be punished for your anger, your anger will punish you." True or false? Christ said "the kingdom of God is within you". This you can also prove to yourself if you are willing to go within. May you "know" the "truth" and the "truth" set you free.

Yes, you are wrong. God has given you a gift of life. I wouldn't want to throw it back in his face. How do you know that you have fulfilled God's purpose for putting you on this earth? If God thought you are ready for heaven, you would probably already be there. God's will is for all of us to have a joyous life. I suggest you get started. God bless you.
