You are on the "border" between the Upper East Side (nice area) and "El Barrio" (bad area). There are some older apartment buildings with housing projects adjacent to them. As you go down the hill towards 103rd Street, you start to get more and more into the bad part.

What kind of saves it from being totally bad is that you have many young professionals (mostly working at Mt. Sinai Hospital...nearby) that live there. Yet it is definitely the cusp

It is the edge of the nice area, a few blocks more uptown and it starts to be a bad area.
