Interestingly enough, Yes there are Navy Personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan. Along with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Units, and SEALS, as well as Navy Hospital Corpsman. The Navy is fully supporting all efforts in the War on terrorism. There are Mobile Security forces that are Master-At-Arms (MA) that are doing the security for the off shore oil loading stations, as well as patrolling the in shore waters of Iraq. There is currently units graduating training in Riverine warfare that will be going to Iraq to patrol the rivers and canals in Iraq. Also the Navy has been throwing the idea of forming a Naval Infantry unit. I haven't heard much about that lately, but I'm pretty sure it's coming down the pipes. MA's are also being used in convoy escort units that are all over Iraq. Yes the Navy does have to send persons that are deploying to Iraq to Army infantry training, and it just came down that Navy personnel will be issued the Army ACU when they arrive for that training. Soon it will be hard to distinguish the Army personnel from the Navy uniform wise, except the patches.

The Marines are a branch of the Navy. The Navy's job is to get the Marine and Army troops there by boat. Once this objective is achieved, there job is done on land.

I had a friend in the Navy reserves who recently was on a 12 month deployment with his unit to Iraq. They may not have the numbers over there that the Army and Marines do...but they are there alongside the rest of them.

The marines and seals are the Navy's troops. My brother is a Navy corpsman, the marines don't have their own medics. Navy corpsmen, technically sailors, serve with marine combat units. He carries weapons and isn't shy about using them. Although he says they are discouraged from getting too involved in the shooting. That's not really his job, he is supposed to be treating the wounded not getting tangled up in the fighting unless its absolutely necessary.

Haha common DEP Marines recruit such as his head up his ***...ah this not in any respect receives previous does it? at the same time as are you going to each and each and every comprehend that they are equivalent? definite you could arise with circumstances the position the Marines "saved" the military or fought first, yet you could also do the same contained in the military's opt for. a lifeless ringer for a way my recruiter has a e book written about him at the same time as he had to flow in and save the Marines asses in Fallujah.it is humorous the way you've not in any respect even been everywhere contained in the protection rigidity, yet you recognize all of this knowledge. And about how the military has better deaths because they are "not educated as solid" is complete hogwash. Did you ever observe that the military has wayy better infantrymen then the Marines have Marines? for this reason there are many better infantrymen which will be likely killed. is smart would not it dumbass. All in all i nonetheless appreciate you for growing a member of the protection rigidity, basically lose the recommendations-set. solid success

Okay, I don't mean to take this out on you, but this REALLY irks me! Go to the DoD website and take a look at the casualties. Yep, they're on the ground. And, yep, they're dying! I blame the idiot media for a lot of this. God bless George Stephanopoulos. He seems to be the only one who gets this right. I have seen more Sailors listed as Marines in the roles on the major news networks!

And maybe this is just the wrong weekend for me to answer this....two Sailors were buried this weekend from the USS Minneapolis-St. Paul. And, no, they weren't on the ground. They drown. But you know what, they're just as dead and their families are just as sad.

Sorry for the rant.
