I'm staying at a friend's house, and I seem to have forgotten my contact solution. Any tips/ideas? Please?
(If you haven't figured this out already, I need this for my CONTACTS.)

My father basically will not take me to get some solution because "I should be carrying it in my purse." Yeah, that sucks, and isn't my fault. Cuz he didn't tell me that we weren't going home!

One adds salt to some water and voila one gets saline solution.
However- what you are talking about is a sterile saline solution to put into your delicate sensitive eye tissue (a place where you definitely do NOT want to introduce bacteria or chlorine or other things in the water supply from the faucet). You want your eye solution to be isotonic- exactly 0.09% gram of salt to 100 mL H2O-not so salty it dries your eyes out, and not so weak it overhydrates.
SO- assuming you do NOT have a sterile compound preparation room, access to sterile water and a compounding scale to weigh out the salt, I heartily recommend you head out to a drugstore and spend $2.99 or so on a bottle of prepared saline!
And now you know why it costs 3 bucks or so! Someone went to a lot of trouble to compound it according to US Pharmacopaeia standards and it passed all testing by the FDA.
All this work so you don't infect your eyes, and lose your vision!

If you cannot find a store or pharmacy, then you are out of luck. Perhaps a hospital could help. Saline usually refers to some type of salt solution. You cannot and should not try to whip some up. Good luck. You might have to go without your contacts for awhile. If your contacts dry out, you might have to replace them.

No matter what you whip up, it won't be sterile. Go get it from a 24 hour place. You could lose your Eye sight playing around like this. People have gotten Amoebic infection from not treating contacts properly.
