My parents spent 7 years in Germany...not sure about the surname Hitler, but you had to be VERY careful what you did say about Nazis and the holocaust in general. People there are very touchy about it and with good reason.

No, the name "Hitler" is not forbidden and unlike many of you might think, it's ok to talk about him. As we should, so his horrible crimes will never be forgotten.
