I have breast fed 2 boys for 2 and 1/2 years each time and the best thing to do is go to the pharmacy and buy nursing creme. They make it specially for cracked nipples and it won't make her sick.
Hang in there

Does your baby have thrush? if she does you do to. If you dont know what thrush is, it is basicaly a yeast infection in their mouth, it will transmit to you while you feed her, this is a normal cause of cracked or bleeding nipples. To find out if she has thrush just look in her mouth a while after she is done feeding or right before she starts. If it is white in there on her tounge or cheeks, and throat, then it is most likely thrush. You will need to go to the doc to get a prescription to clear it up. You will have to give it to your baby, and there is a cream for your nipples, you have to apply it every time you feed, other wise you will keep passing it back to each other. Good luck

I went by way of this too and it replaced into painful!! I used Lansinoh sort Lanolin. It soothes, heals and protects dry, cracked pores and skin. It relatively helped me and that i used it plenty once I first began breastfeeding. you will get it everywhere from walmart to walgreens. It feels somewhat greasy and thick notwithstanding it works and it is secure to apply to breastfeed. You dont ought to bathe it off till now feeding your toddler. a sprint field lasts a protracted time. purely rub a sprint small pea length around the tip of your nipple the place it is painful. I additionally bleed a sprint, so dont concern in the adventure that your toddler throws up a sprint blood. it is unquestionably commonly used no remember if it is purely a sprint. My nipples have been relatively cracked and in spite of the undeniable fact that it injury to feed my son i nonetheless fed him and thats whilst he swallowed some blood from my cracked nipples. He threw up son blood alongside with breast milk. i took him to the medical doctors yet they stated it replaced into completely commonly used because of the fact of my cracked nipples. wish each and every thing is going properly for you.

This may sound a litle weird but grated carrot. Grate some carrot up and put it in a nursing pad after she feeds and isn't going to feed again for a little while, then just put it in your bra. The easiest way to get the carrot off is to do it under running water. It offers a lot of relief. This was told to me by a midwife.

Lansinoh breast cream is VERY soothing, healing and safe for you to keep on while baby nurses. It's terrific stuff, but it's thick. Put it into the palm of your hand and warm it up in your hands first so it becomes body temperature - makes it easier to apply. I used Lansinoh disposable breast pads to keep the cream in place and keep it off my bras, too.
I know how bad it hurts, and it WILL feel better soon. Best of luck and take care.
Most Target stores sell it, here's the link so you know what to look for:

Use a thick balm on them in between feedings - like bag balm. Also, put cabbage leaves in your bra. The cool, sulfurous vegetable soothes and heals skin. Seriously! My sister-in-law swears by it.

Yes, that's normal. Don't worry, in a few weeks they will fall off naturally.
