i'm a beautiful, intelligent, and awesome woman. but this man has come into my life and has swept me off my feet. he's not my usual type. i tend to go for guys who are easy on the eye, athletic build, and the opposite of a nice guy. this man I've met is the opposite...intelligent, funny, thoughtful, and most might not find him drop dead gorgeous...but i find him adorable. should i take a chance on something different? or am i only setting myself up for failure?

My guess is that he is much more sexually satisfying than any of your past lovers...just my guess...

This sounds like you have met someone that you care about in more than a physical way. This will probably be very important when it comes to a long term relationship. You will need to be able to relate to a man in a lot more ways than just a great body. Especially when you have kids and no time for sex. LOL
Give him a chance. Wouldn't you rather know for sure than always be wondering? Sometimes I wish I was more of a dork. :-)

Why take the risk of loosing what is right before you?! A great guy... maybe he fell to you bc you were looking for all the wrong stuff. And does it matter what others think? Only what you and your heart wants. Take a chance with this "dork", I bet you'd be sorry later if you didn't.

No offense, but it seems like you care more about others' perceptions than your own.
One thing you didn't describe about yourself is "young", because it seems like you've got a lot to learn. Some people go through life missing too many opportunities that come their way. You don't want to be that "woman" at 40 or 50 years old wishing they would have lived their life differently.
You also didn't describe yourself as "shallow". I hope that's for good reason! :)

Maybe he thinks you are a "dork" too?
You only set yourself up for failure by having pre-conceived notions about it.
What's the big hurry anyhow?
You won't win any points by pointing out to him that you can score with hulking bad-boy studly types either.

Lets see he is intelligent, funny and thoughtful and the only thing is he is not gorgeous? You are ridiculously shallow and he deserves better. Most women would kill for a man like that.

I say give him a chance.Looks aren't everything now a days and who cares what others think you are the one that will be dating him.The not so good looking people are most times better people anyways they have to make up for there lack of good looks somewhere.Good Luck!

shallowness shall be fall you all. go for him you will find out sooner or later the nice guys finish last only becuase it takes the girls so long to figure out how abusive and bad the other guys can be so get ahead of the game (somthing about this time of day just makes me type cliches) and get the guy who you find right for all the right reasons.
