Just finished connecting my new HDMI supporting Denon Receiver. Cable works just fine using HDMI connection but the DVD shows nothing on HDMI. I changed HDMI cable and change slots but nothing helped. Any ideas? I see no picture at all on my TV when DVD is on.

First thing is check to make sure your DVD player doesn't have a menu choice to select HDMI as an output. Use a standard composite cable to plug it into the TV and bring up the setup menu.
If that isn't it, try plugging the HDMI cable from the DVD directly into your TV to see if you get an image. If you do, then 99% chance it is an HDCP issue with your receiver. Denon receivers are notorious for this problem. They have HDMI repeaters and this breaks the HDCP handshake chain. You are lucky your Cable box works...many people have had problems with the cable boxes as well (if you don't, you may in the future as the cable companies get around to updating their software... happened in our area). If that is the case, then your only way to get switching is to go to a fully HDCP compliant HDMI switcher. I've sold a bunch of the Radiient Technologies switchers and they are the only ones that have proven 100% reliable without any HDCP issues (tried the Gefen's, the Monoprices, etc and they were all intermittant).

Try going straight from your DVD Player to your TV.
I'm not sure on your setup, but it could be a number of things including your receiver doesn't support HDCP(Is your player HD/BD?), or you may need to go DVD -> HDMI -> Receiver -> HDMI -> TV, if one of those two HDMI's is a different cable, such as component or S-Video, chances are they both need to be a HDMI cable.
Another possibility, depending on your screen if it doesn't have HDMI, but has DVI, it may be analog DVI only.

Look in the manual.

It's not actually a story about a Mexican.
