I need either if these to make a pudding,could I use an clean t-shirt for it.

My sister makes the best dumpling (rich fruit steamed pudding) here in scotland we call it "clootie dumpling" because it is made in a cloth. She uses a white cotton pillowslip.

A T-shirt is fine,just steep it first in some boiling water for a few minutes first,oh and make sure the dye in it doesn't run!

I would use linen. It is better than a tee shirt!

Is it a clean white t-shirt? If so, you could. You could also use cheesecloth if you have that.
