I am concerned about my ex boyfriend that I still remain very close with today. We are both Christians, however, I got a text message from him today saying "Spiritually, I'm 100% sure I'm going to hell and there's nothing I can do to change that". I know he has accepted Christ into his life but I don't know what to say to this. :( What do you think I should say?

Ask him what makes him sure of this.
It is possible that he has never actually received Jesus as Lord and Savior in the first place.
Offer to study the bible with him and show him the way of salvation, that is clearly written in scripture. Remember in Romans it says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ.

I think if he really has accepted Christ the only thing that could have prompted this if he honestly believes that is that somehow he believes he has blasphemed the Holy Spirit, so he believes the Bible says that there is no possible way that he can be forgiven. This is the only sin in the Bible mentioned as an unforgivable sin.

This wouldn't be the first time the devil has tried this weapon on a believer. I would ask him if this is the case. If so then you need to look into this matter to be able to explain to him this is an attack from satan. The devil is very clever and really comes against believers in any way he can. In the end we must stand upon the word of God and the Holy Spirit will lead us. Go over the message of the Gospel with your friend. Then go over your friends testimony. I hope you believe in eternal security because it is what the Bible teaches. Help your friend and encourage him. May God give you the words to say - trust the Lord to make you a blessing to your friend. He will, and your friend and you will both grow in Christ.

Love in Christ. God bless you.

If you're 100 percent certain that your ex-boyfriend is indeed a Christian than the Bible is quite clear on the eternal destination of those who have been saved by Jesus Christ and I would focus entirely on those promises in the Bible. Otherwise, prayer is the only thing which remains

It sounds as if he is worried that you're getting on with your life, and he wants you still around. I don't know the circumstances of your breakup, but if it was YOU who did it, then he's probably still pining for you, and if it was HIM who did it, then he's probably not getting any attention and is wanting ANY attention he can get. Either way, do not answer, and if he approaches you in real life, say that you're sorry, but if he feels that there is nothing he can do to change it, then he's damning himself. There is ALWAYS something you can do to change the direction your life is going in, if you don't like it. But we don't always like our choices. This is not your responsibility beyond what comfort you can give him by letting him know that he CAN change his life if he doesn't like it. The power to do so is within him, he just has to WANT to do it. If he doesn't want to, then he is just bringing his misery and drama into your life unnecessarily. Be blunt, honest, and then get outta there! :)

You could either give the text about saying that God forgives anyone, even the worst of sinners, or you could go see him. The absolute must is love and sincerity.

Ask him why and tell him that there is nothing anyone can do -- Jesus must do it and all he has to do is just ask him for the Grace to believe. If he has sinned Jesus can forgive him. Nothing is impossible with God tell him.

What has he done to make him feel so guilty? You could ask him that.
