well the trend today is both ears....
It's whatever you think looks good on you.
Personally I like out-of-the-norm kind of piercings. Like my friend has 2 on the left and 1 on the right or this other guy has 2 on the left; one at the lower end and one in the middle of the lobe.
It doesn't hurt that much at all... it's just feels like a hard pinch

Earlobe piercing can be done with a gun in pretty well any jewellery store. However if you want less chance of it getting infected then go to a professional piercer. Usually you will find one in a tatoo studio. They will provide you with any aftercare if needed. Getting your earlobe pierced does not hurt too much. Actually it can be a bit of an adrenaline rush to get piercings. As for whether to get one or both ears pierced is up to you. There are no rules about what ear you get pierced. try putting on some magnetic ones to see what they look like. Hope this helps.

I had my first ear-lobe piercing done at the doctor's, with local anaesthetic, and it was completely painless.
I added a second set of holes 10 years later, and had them done at a hair-dressers. That was done with a gun. The sensation is roughly like a mild bang, and not something you need to worry about. From memory, I used meths to disinfect the holes while they were healing, either that or dettol.
(My mother's were done 50 plus years ago by a friend who was a nurse, and who armed herself with a darning needle & linen thread. The thread was then pulled through a little each day, and it all got dabbed with disinfectant. While it worked for her, I don't know that I would recommend that method.)
Whatever you use, a little dab daily of some form of antiseptic, and keeping your hair clean should ensure you don't have any problems. (How does your skin get on with gold & silver? If you turn yellow gold black, then stay away from yellow gold earrings. If silver irritates you, don't get silver earrings, even after the holes have healed. Surgical steel is a good choice for your first earrings while the holes are healing. If you are a bit iffy with metals, once the holes have healed, try for a minimum of 14 k gold, and you have a choice of yellow, white or rose.)
You might as well get both ears done at once, and then you can wear one or two earrings as the mood takes you. Depending upon which earrings I'm wearing, I wear one or two per ear, so I've always got a choice.

It is entirely your choice as to how many piercings you get. I will share with you my experiences though.
I have 13 piercings and each ear has 3 lobe piercings. They really only "hurt" for a moment but it is more like a pinch. It is just sleeping on the ear that gets in the way or should you accidentally snag it.
Never pierce with a gun! This is unsanitary and just plain dumb. I know it is cheaper to get a piercing done at the mall but please consider your personal health and safety and go to a parlor.
Buy H2Ocean with your new piercing and clean regularly as to avoid infection.
Good luck with whatever you should choose.

Ear lobe piercings don't hurt much at all, it takes very little time and heals fast. However, if you get ear piercings higher up near the cartilage, they hurt more and ake longer to heal. Oh, and another hint, avoid gun piercings. They are not hygenic and while they seem easier than getting a needle used at a proffessiona;l place, you should look at te long term results, safety should be more important.

It hardly hurts at all - even my little 3 year old niece didn't wince. But do take care of it for the first week, just to prevent any infection. It's totally a personal choice whether to pierce one or both ears.

I think guys look great with just one ear piercing.earlobe piercings don't hurt very much the worse part of it is after when your trying to sleep with it,which is very hard to do not to mention slightly weird since your ear gets really warm after being pierced.

Eh, it might sting/ feel numb for a few hours but that's about it. Slaming your fingers in a door is far more painfull.
One or both ears is a personal choice really... Get one done, if you want the other one and are alirght with any pain caused by the first then go the second?

It does not hurt that bad, just for a second. Then your ear is going to have to heal for 6 weeks. Stainless steel post are best on earrings, some people are allergic to cheap metals & their peircing gets infected. As for how many? Thats up to you!

I would get it on BOTH. I think that it is SO cute<33
I have two peicrings in BOTH of my ear loabs and on my left side i have a cartlige peircing.
It really doesn't hurt THAT bad. It hurts more AFTER you get it done. But make sure to Turn offten cause you skin will close in on your earing..and you surly don't want that to happen.
