Go fishing preferably at just before the sun goes down and throw a can of dog food with holes in it out in the lake of near where you plan to thow your line. Then put some good ole chicken liver (small piece) on your hook and get ready to catch a big ole catfish!

The real lunkers prefer live bait fish (even as big as 12"). You can fish it on a big predator sliding float rig. For medium sized or smaller cats you can use stink baits really efficiently. But the variety of baits you can use is almost endless. Cats eat EVERYTHING. :-)

some of my favorites include....

Canned corn on a hook
Take cornmeal and mix it with jello then put it in the fridge
Raw meats
Big worms
and putting vinella flavoring that you cook with on your baits gives it a strong smell that they love

now heres how ya do it.... take a round bobber and take the spring out so its the a ball witha hook. cast, then hold your rod up with a forked stick in the ground and put the bobber between the rings on your pole so its hangin on your line. when the bobber jumps up because the line tightened set the hook real hard.

Cats shouldn't be in the water..........period. To catch a cat with a fish hook is cruel. Unless you're using catnip or a live mouse. Otherwise, don't do it. I think there's an SPCA rule about that. Don't make me report you to the authorities. You'll spend the rest of your life in jail. Trust me, it's not worth it.

I pretty sure dogfishing is legal.
