Most likely the cop didn't show up to court so they drop the charges.

All traffic tickets are marked with a number and these numbers are controlled by the motor vehicle division. Every ticket must be accounted for. With the number you can go to the DMV and they can tell you exactly which agency received this group of citations. You can then go to that police agency and because of accountability records they can tell you who issued you the ticket. Also - once a ticket book is assigned to an officer - no other officer can write a ticket from that book. Ask the file clerk to look up the ticket at the police station. If it cant be found - It was either lost or misplaced by the officer, the court or the police agency. You can also request a court date from the court if you provide them your copy of the ticket. If you do nothing and the ticket magically appears in the court your license will be suspended

Sounds like you were stopped for a totally fictitious reason,
that the "cop" was up to some other purpose, and just wanted to stop you and see who or what you were, or to get your name and address ( this could be a very bad thing! ).
Whether or not the cop was real or not, who knows. Make certain that the location where you were listed in the address is SECURE, locked and safe.
If nothing else happens in a while, you should report this encounter TO THE REAL POLICE in your area, in a full police report. You should have a COPY of the ticket, with the police department, the officers' number and a scribbled signature, which they can trace as real or fake.
Get a lawyer if you don't already have one to look over the data.
Where I live, cops are in the news all the time, BEING CHARGED with illegal activities... just feel lucky you are being left alone, but the information you gave on the licence and registration could be used fraudulently, so be cautious...

Don't press it. If they do not have a record of the ticket then it may be that it was never submitted and entered or it got lost somewhere in the system. It is necessary to cover yourself on this for the future because if you should be stopped again and the cop looks you up and finds that you have an outstanding ticket it may get very tough for you. I would call once more just to be sure that they do not have your ticket on file. If not, write a letter to the court and ask them if they have a record of your ticket. Keep a copy of this letter with you in your car to show anyone that you tried to contact the court and pay your fine. You must cover your butt because many times the court doesn't have an open mind on such matters and they will accuse you of avoiding payment of the ticket.

You question is a bit complicated. Did the cop say that you did not stop at the red light before you made the right turn? Or did he say you made a rolling stop, which is not a complete stop.
The ticket might not appear because they might be behind entering it in the computer, could have been a fake cop, or it could be the ticket got lost.
Either way, your best bet is to check in your computer if your license is still good and see if there are any tickets pending.
Check to see if your state has something to check this out, in Florida it looks something like this.I would check again with the courts, because you can run the risk of the ticket appearing again, and your license can get suspended without even knowing it.

I don't know if this will help because I don't know what State or city your in therefore the jurisdiction could be county, city, municipal, or township. Therefore the best answer or advice is to call the number on the ticket, give them the ticket # and if they say the same disregard the ticket. However, I would definetly get the name of the person you talked to and write that, the date you called and if possible the persons employee I.D. # that way if there's any dispute you at least have a record that you made an attempt to resolve the matter. Hope this helps.
GOD BLESS/GOOD LUCK!!

First it doesn't matter if you're going thru the intersection or turning right, you must still come to a complete stop. Secondly, the ticket should have had a court date on it, if you missed that date maybe you should check to see if there is a warrant out for your arrest. Thirdly, if the cop says you did it, you're pretty much automatically guilty.

I don't know, but you are not the only one who has these issues. I would stay on top of it, just in case they attempt to suspend your license at some point...hopefully you have some kind of paperwork showing that you stayed on top of it.
I am in the situation and stupidly have nothing to show for it, if they should end up suspending my liscense. I got my first ticket, (I am a goodie two-shoes) for being parked in a handicapped spot, at night, while I was in the car with it on, and on the phone. The parking lot had about 12 handicapped spots. All were empty, it was like 9pm at a supermarket. The cop pulled up and took up three of the handicap spots. He spend almost 45 minutes giving me this ticket inwhich he told me to plead not guilty to. It was my first ticket, so I kept no record of it, and went in person to turn it in. The woman asked me if I was in a handicapped spot, since I was pleading not guilty and I said yes, (I am not a liar.), then I told her that the officer told me to do that and that he would make sure that I only had a tiny fine. She then told me, I am not supposed to go to court on the date of the ticket, but that I would receive a notice about when to go to court. I have never gotten that notice. I went back to the courthouse and the same lady told me she is really behind at putting the tickets in the computer and that at some point I would recieve a letter. In March it will be a year. So, I understand where you are coming from. I wonder did he, or she decide not to pursue this, is that possible. I am sure it was a real cop, but don't blame you like some of these other folks for thinking something is up.
Good Luck, and just keep checking in with them...if they do eventually suspend your lisence, request the paperwork inwhich you were notified about your court date. A friend of mine did this, and they literally, then and there dropped it. It never hurts to stand up for yourself.

why would a police officer hand you a "fake" ticket. Not only a fake ticket, but of course you stopped for the red light, everybody does. Is there anyone in the U.S. that actually admits to blowing a red light ? No, officer, the light was yellow. yes, it was yellow before it was red. Quit whining and pay the ticket or go cry to the magistrate.

nicely in accordance to the officer there changed into structure. the line gave the impact of a street. If the section changed into infact less than structure and the light fixtures were became off for the shape it would want to were revealed that the section changed into to be treated as a classic street. also, to me the line gave the impact of a street. even if that's basically a federally funded street then the federall regulation comes into play which could make all site visitors at streetlevel not ought to stop. i'm better suspicious of how police sprint cam images were given onto you tube and why there changed into no audio on the begining. that's sparkling to me the video has been edited, i favor to be certain unedited images. regardless of preparation we nonetheless make mistakes, in accordance with what I pronounced it gave the impact of a sound stop. that is why you want to not purely study the regulation yet also interpret it. The regulation is amazingly complicated and is continually being interpreted in a unique way.

I believe you are suppose to call the courthouse for a court date.... You are required to come to a complete stop, though. If the ticket didn't exist in the system ...it will not hurt to call again to make sure it has not resurfaced. If it doesn't it is safe to say you have just got out of a good one!
Wish you luck!
