My best friend's boyfriend absolutely loves football and she's just not into it. They had an argument because he wanted her to watch the game with him but she's not into it and decided to go shopping with me. Now he won't even answer her calls. They have been together for two years, do you think this is a justified cause?

From my understanding it's happened before but their love was new and they would make up because they were so into each other. This time though, it seems like he's serious since he's asked her repeatedly to try and watch a game, she called me instead and we went out for retail therapy. It's been two days since they've spoken.

Men watch football. If you don't like it then tough crap. Deal with it! The woman should be making sandwiches for her Guy and then do some cleaning.....dusting,washing the floors, windows, deep throating.

My answer is NO GROW UP remember that if you can't beat them, then you join them. seriously, I was married to one man 4 16yrs he didn't care if he watched it or not. My second relationship now going on 17 yrs he can't live with out his football, and why fight? ok so I started sitting on my but, and either have a few beers, eat like a pig, have the girls over whatever, just keep to a minimum as far as distractions go and make him think I'm watching, also go ahead and bet every now and then, so now I'm at home like he want's and all's well

Yes, football and relationship are in the same boat once you find a team you love you will deafened them with you whole heart just like a relationship he would not let anyone talk bad about his girlfriend or let any harm come her way the same is with football if she want to be with him she have to learn the game she don't have to love it but she need to respect the game

Did you ever see the movie "Diner" with Mickey Rourke? It was in the 80s. Tell her to rent it. There was a part where one of the characters was so into football, that his fiance had to pass a football test in order for him to marry her. Also their wedding theme color was the colors of his favorite team.
I think anything could be taken too far. This guy needs to lighten up. I would rather shop anyday than watch sports on TV!

Yes. Not because of the football. But because She would be pissed if he did to her when she wanted to go out or drink wine or watch the oc. Girls ask for so much more sh!t and she should have sucked it up and watched the game. FYI it the playoffs and if his team is in it, that is a huge deal.

absolutely not...if they have been together for two years and this hasnt happend before (because im sure there were other football games during this time) then its something else and the football game was just an excuse to cop out. its something much bigger.

Maybe they should meet in the middle about it ( they shouldn't have to but...) But maybe they could so somethingn like i'll wwatch the game with you if you go to the mall with me. Or they could make it fun... Cause most of the problem with guys in football is even if you do decide to watch it with you. they don't pay any attention to you. so make it fun! for every touchdown she gets a kiss. something like that...

There is nothing wrong with him wanting to be with someone who share a similar hobby, however, I think it is is insensetive and controling to try to force some one to like some thing they don't, and he is being immature about the whole thing. If it is that important, he should look for some one who likes football, not try to change your friend.

It usually runs a little deeper than just watching a game, like maybe they always do what she wants and he got tired of it. I'm just using that for an example.

it's just football and someguys like it when their girlfriends watch sports with them....maybe your friend should grow up a bit and just seem a little interested in her what her boyfriend likes...and it is stupid to ruin a two year relationship over football
