First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. I know what it's like to lose a beloved pet, as I'm sure most everyone here does as well.

You could find a taxidermist, but bear in mind that she probably won't look the same, aside from the fact, that it's probably going to cost a fortune.

I also have to say that I agree somewhat with with Bri and Venice Girl. It's not fair to do that to her. think another alternative that you might want to consider, and it's one that I did with my first dog, is that I had her separately cremated and her ashes are in an urn near the head of my bed where she loved to sleep. I also have a clause in my Will I that her ashes are to be buried with me when I'm gone.

If you get your dog taxidermied, they never get the eyes right. If you can bury her, it's best to. That way you can remember her as she was, not as a skin stretched over a fake body with glass eyes that stare vacantly into nothing.

Maybe get another dog when you are ready from the ASPCA or dog pound, in memory of your pet. Maybe she'll come back to you as a puppy, I truly believe our dog did that. She had been dead for over 6 years, and we all still missed her so much. My mom had a really weird dream where our dog got reincarnated. And, I really believe our new dog is her.

Dont stuff her, you loved her a lot by the sounds of it... Think about what you will be doing to her precious body, Bury her and surround your self with enlarged photos on the all which you can look at every day.

You wouldt allow someone to invade your childs body by stuffing them would you... A pet is like a child..

Sorry for your loss

So sorry for your loss. I know how awful it is to lose one of those wonderful little fur babies.
Instead of having her stuffed, how about cremation? There are some lovely urns available. Some with a space in the front for her picture. That way you could keep her with you and remember how she really looked.

If you love her so much, think of her. Think about what an insult this is to her being. Would you like all of your insides ripped out and replaced with stuffing, steel rods stuck in your body to keep you upright, your eyes pulled out and glass ones put in, your skin chemically treated to last forever and and then glued to a board? Give her her respect and let her go.

Its really hard when a beloved pet dies. I'm sorry to hear that. But you really shouldn't get her stuffed. Have a local artist paint her picture for you, or have her cremated and get a fancy holder for her.

I understand your pain and agony..the thought of saying goodbye to your pet is painful..but please, just bury your dog and maybe give it a memorial marker...and remember your dog in the pictures you have taken in happier times during its life. You will eventually, in time, be able to move on and perhaps even get a new pet.
