If your vision is impaired, insurance will cover it. You will have a test to determine that. I learned I had lost about 1/3 of my upper vision.

If you are only having it done because of vanity (!), you will have to pay for it. Mine cost about $4000. I had it done as an out-patient in the hospital because I thought I might need some oxygen if I got nervous. I have some breathing problems. Some doctors do it right in their office.

Some prefer to have a plastic surgeon do this, but some opthamologists do it, too. I was awake during the whole thing! But if a person can't handle it, it's best to have it done in the hospital, so they can put you out.

Call some plastic surgeons, and find out who does this surgery. Then ask what they charge. I just had my upper lids done. If you have both upper and lower, it would be more.

When you find a doctor, ask to see some before and after pictures. Or if you know someone who has had it done, ask them who did theirs.

Good luck! If you have any questions, feel free to email me!

It's a bad idea, unless you have a medical condition that is blocking your vision. I used to know a man who had an eyelift and he regretted it so much, because it really changed the way he looked and, in his mind, his personality.
