I would not try to meet girls at bars or on the internet. I'd try to find someone through a friend, or just wait for the right person to stumble into your life (that's what happened with me!).

probably places where lots of young people are around.. like coffeeshops, bookstores. i get hit on a lot on the street; and though you can't be sure if she's single or not (unless she's w/ a guy who's obviously her bf), she'll be flattered and take your interest positively
