The best way to lose weight at the healthy rate of 2lbs a weeks, in a nutshell, is A) give up alcohol and drink 2 litres of water a day; B) do at half an hour of exercise a day in the morning, preferably before breakfast to kick start your metabolism, (if you can't excersise - have you tried gentle rebounding? It is perfect for people with injuries. You can start by rocking for just 30 seconds a day...) and C) eat muesli, fruit and or yogurt for breakfast; salad and nutty bread or rice for lunch and a light protein and veg meal (no carbs) for dinner. Don't snack on fruit as they contain a lot of sugar which can cause bloating too. Nibble a rice cake or drink a Miso soup if you are peckish between meals. You will begin to feel light and energetic by the third day. This is healthy and you will see results fast.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

I'm sorry if its not what you wanted to hear but there are only two ways of shedding excessive body fat.

One is by consuming fewer calories (i.e. eat less, or eat healthier). The other is by burning more calories (i.e. by being more active and exercising). Either way you have to generate a calory deficit.

A pound of fat equals 3500 calories. To lose 1 pound a week you will need to expend 3500 more calories than you eat that week, whether through increased activity or decreased eating or both.

Go to your gym and discuss your back problems with an experienced PT and get him/her to assess which exercises you can do safety. I have a client who's an amputee, so I'm sure you can manage to find something you can do!!

Crimbo is cute... It's going to take more time if you can't work out, but one pound is 3,500 calories. If you decrease what you are eating my 500 calories a day, that would be a pound a week.

To feel full while eating less, try to eat 5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day, lean meats (poultry, fish, eggs, and vegetable protein sources), low-fat dairy products, and fiber-dense carbohydrates. Watch your portion sizes, and measure them out if you have to. Best advice: don't drink your calories!

Good luck!

Hi there, a good way to start is to do some gentle form of excercise. aerobic or swimming. This is great because it does not stress your body out! We all know that dieting alone does not help us to loose weight. Excersice helps to build out metabolic rate up. strengthen the arteries and the end result perform better at most things we do. By maintaining the excersise we can help to control our weight with a sensible diet.

The web-site below is interesting, fun and informative.

Hope that this helps you out. Take care now. Deanne Santini-Devencia xxxx

Well try and cut all the pop and high cal and suger drinks out of your diet.
Drink LOTS of water.
Eat lots of fruits and Veggies.
do you like to dance?
plug in the stereo and just dance!
Dancing for 30 minutes burns 240 calories
Just go to the mall and window shop!
Shopping for one hour burns 210 calories
if none of this is working for you try dieting with a friend
sometimes getting that kind of support is good.
Good luck!

Change from butter to margarine; full fat milk to skimmed milk; cut sugar out from tea/coffee.

If you eat a lot of ready meals, go for the Weight Watcher range. Some of them are really nice.

Try joining a local Weight Watchers group as well, they are really good, helpful and supportive.

You could try low carb. 60 carbs a day is what my mom did and it really worked for her. I also tryed it. I felt starved at first but that is because i am younger and needed more. Or if you want, you could just stick to a no sugar diet. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables, have a regular meal, always eat breakfast and drink tons of water!
