I never heard of such a saying. I don't think "deserves" is the issue, just because a person has been a bridesmaid doesn't automatically mean they will ever be a bride or they "deserve" it. It'll happen or it won't, depending on if they find someone.

if this was true. i would be in every wedding possible
but, no i doubt it. they mostly put couples to walk down the isle and whoever that's not a couple can talk if they want but it's not mandatory or something you expect
