I usually take Dayquil in the daytime and Neo-Citron at night, but they dry me out like crazy.

Check to see if you need all the ingredients in the Dayquil or other medicine if it is a combination. Antihistamines- like Sudafed (pseudoephedrine) are supposed to dry you out. Sudafed comes in a shorter acting dose of 30mg that you can take if the amount in the other meds is too much.
You could try the following as well:
Ibuprofen or Tylenol for aches, fevers
Robitussin DM for cough
A teeny bit of Vicks in boiling water- put the vicks in the water, put a towel over your head and the pan, and breathe.

I would have the same problem of getting dryed out myself so what I do is take robitussin as directed. I also take a decogestant like claritin-d or benedryl-d once a day.Drink plenty of water like 8 glasses a day and take vitamin c. If your stuffed up use a inhaler like zicam.
