There are a LOT of products out there, but the simple fact remains- you have to keep your skin clean.
30+ years ago my dermatologist recommended using plain Ivory Soap (gasp!!!) and a BufPuf to exfoliate the skin. I have had only a handful of pimples in all the years I've done this.

Most bodily problems can be prevented or aided by having propoer nutrition. Acne is a skin health issues, and health starts from within.

For internal solutions: 1) Drink lots of water. 2) Eat lots of green vegetables. 3) And even a little exercise will help overtime because sweating cleanses the pores.4) Detox- stop eating high sugarand spice foods for a couple days and phase them back into your diet to see if anything in particular causes you to break out.

Externally:
1) Exfoliating occassionally. 2) I'm not sure what type of skin you have, but tomato helps acne. I recommend Burt's Bee's tomato face soap bar. It helped me a lot. 3) Use grapeseed oil to moisturize. Dont believe that because you have oily skin that you dont ned to moisture. Sometimes you get acne from your skin working to over compensate for dry skin. And grapeseed also has some medicinal use in this way. 4) Use cetaphil cleanser which is gently works for most people. You can find it almost anywhere a pharmacy is located.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

as much as this is gross this works...kelp actually eat the kelp it really helps I'm talking about the slimy green stuff that looks really bad not the papery stuff you see in asian stores.
I used st Ives and its ok and I try not to eat so much greasy food... its whats going on in your stomach that can actually affect it!! Its true

also if you eat figs and stuff that stuff really works
umm lets see tea tree oil Thats really good for it go to body shop
Crab tree and Evelyn has some stuff to dry it out and its really good
oh and ginseng you might not be able to find this but it is really good ask any chinese herbalist!! Its an antitoxin so it can reverse aging AND reduce pimples... but then its bitter so I suggest you get the powdered kind
How to eat the ginseng powder:
first boil some water in a tea pot or something
then put it in a mug spoon in 2 or 3 spoonfuls of ginseng powder
add 1 teaspoon of honey mix and wait for it to cool and drink it...

honey is good for your skin too makes it smooth and creamy and more evened toned

I would try the vitamin supplements first:

Alfalfa and GLA Complex. These are both good for acne problems and there is also a lotion you can get in the United States called Acne Clarifying Complex

i had the same problem before...acne breakouts!

i really advice you to go to a dermatology coz if ull just try whatever medicine is out there in stores, it might just make yor acne wrose than ever!

for a stimulatory purposes, what i did is i always drink one cup of hot milk everynight..it will help stimulate your hormones to control your breakout..

then, after choosing the right soap for you from a dermatologist,
wash your face once with warm water...then wash it with the soap then rinse it thrice with cold water...
:)

use sunscreen everyday!
and vitamin C every night!

it works! my face is now clearer than i have ever dreamt!

Stop consuming caffeine. (coffee, tea, chocolate, soft drinks).

If your skin dries out and your zits start disappearing after 2 weeks, then you are in good shape.
