For the most part, yes. There are some gland issues that can cause you not to fulfill your full height, and poor nutrition can stop you from maximizing your height as well. However the most important determining factor is your genes.

It's mostly genetics, but diet does contribute quite a bit. However, since you've got the means to use the internet to ask this question, I'm assuming you didn't starve much in your childhood, so it's pretty much genetics. Unless of course you broke some important bones on the growth plates... that could be slightly detrimental as well....

Yes. I am 5'2", my dad is 5'4" my mom is 5'5". My whole family is short (NO ONE is over 5'7"). Your height does depend on your genes, for the most part. There are always enviornmental factors that can stunt or accelerate your growth. Since your probably not completely developed, ou could try using an inversion table or something of that sort.

I am 15 years old and i stand 5'11 to 6 ft. I'm really tall since when I was young. My dad is tall and all my other siblings are tall. So i think it has something to do with the transferring of genes. Also the Growth hormone has something to do with that.
well i think when i was in grade 6 or 5 i already stand 160 + cm. im not showin off.

Absolutely. You're really not short. You'll have no problem reaching things except on the very highest of shelves. We're not talking about those in regular grocery stores, though. And if you can't, just ask for help.
It's not as though you can safely, easily or painlessly do anything about it, so just accept it.

Yes your genetics determines your height. The only way your growth is stunted would be through poor nutrition, which is very rare in the western world.

I'm 10cm shorter than you. i have tried everything from drinking extra milk, to jumping, to stretching. but nothing works unfortunately. but over the years i have learned to accept myself.
so yes, height does depend on your genes, with very little depending on your surroundings. however, that doesn't mean you should just give up and stop drinking milk and jumping. so while it won't make your bones longer, it will make them stronger, so you won't shrink from osteoporosis when you're old.
