Let the ex know he's interested in having a relationship with the child. When the child is born request a paternity test - just to be sure. Negotiate custody and support of the child.

its still his child. still his flesh and blood. take responsibility and take care of the child. ask for split custody and get it resolved BEFORE the baby gets here so its some long drawn out battle that can hurt the child in the end.

there nothing he can do. but be a good father to the child and go
on with his life. just because they are not together does not mean
that he has no responsibility in this. he has a child on the way.
