do not use any thing above 40 PROOF not percent but proof if you by percentage dont use any thing above 20-25 percent

This is the dumbest question I've ever seen. Alcohol will not put out a fire...even the lowest proof. It's an accelerator....use toilet water!

200 proof is pure grain alcohol. Don't try and put out a fire with it though.

I would say anything below 30 proof might work and would depend on amout of air getting to fire...

Wine and beer would work. Hard liquors would worsen the fire.

Fortified wines (sherry, port, vermouth) are just on the borderline, I think.
