Hi,

I have been working out (weight training) for around 8 months, recently I noticed muscle twitching in arms (biceps) and back.

So is this normal, I dont think I initiate them voluntarily.

thanks.

It just means you are a over training a bit.
Your body is stressing out because of the excess latic acid.
In that sense it is similar to involuntary shivering, yourbody is trying to fix itself.
It is better to stop short before training that far, or supplement additional nutrients so you don't over train that far. The bannan advice is pretty good, you could look into performance oriented diets for good health.
Everyone is different but most people will not see good gains from training that far unless you are supplementing extra hormones.

Try eating a banana or two before working out. Your muscles may need potassium because while working out, your muscles burn up different nutrients.
Potassium is used for muscle spasms.

It is normal and quite healthy. It means you are doing a great workout and that your muscles are healing as prescribed. It is just part of the healing process.

You should go buy a calcium & magnesium supplement. I can almost guarantee the spasms will stop, since this formula relaxes muscles.

twitching is a rapid response to a single stimulus that is slightly over the threshold, such as temperature, water(dehydrated), flexibility, muscle fatigue, proper nutrition, or oxygen supply
